What is the Ardaaga Civic Lab?
The Ardaaga Civic Lab is a youth-centered initiative by Ardaaga that gives young people access to a collaborative space where they can:
Use our office facilities.
Get involved in real projects.
Receive training and mentorship in civic education, digital tools, and leadership.
Grow into future leaders of Somalia’s civic and governance spaces.
How it Works

Fill a short application form and tell us your interests.
Attend Interview
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a friendly interview.
Become a Civic Lab Member
Once selected, you’ll get a membership pass with scheduled access.
Get Involved & Learn
Contribute to tasks in your area (Research, Media, Outreach, etc.) Attend free workshops and training every month.
Grow into a Civic Leader
We track your growth and dedication—and offer opportunities to join as interns, fellows, or staff.

Who Can Apply?
Aged between 18–30
Based in or near Kismayo, Jubaland
Interested in governance, democracy, media, or social good
Able to commit a few hours per week
Is this a paid position?
No. It’s not a job but an opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow. Active members may be selected for internships or jobs later.
Do I need experience?
No. Just motivation and willingness to learn. We’ll train you!
Can I choose what kind of work I do?
Yes. During your interview, we’ll discuss your interests and skills and place you in the right team.
Do I need a university degree or special skills to join?
No! You don’t need a degree or any special background. If you’re motivated, open to learning, and care about your community, that’s enough. We’ll guide you, train you, and help you build your skills from wherever you are.
